MRS SUDHA MURTHY-THE ONE AND ONLY INSPIRATION OF MY LIFE TILL NOW!!

Now what should I say about this lady who inspired me so much. Actually this blog is not enough to tell you people about the happenings of her life and the way she inspired me. But, just wanted to give her a place in my blog.

Just one look at her and you will realize that simplicity is the way of her life and living.
Her numerous experiences which she has penned down teach the basic values and morals of life. Her writing is not very sophisticated , but the underlying aura and meaning are great.

For the people who need an introduction of her, she is the wife of the chief founder of Infosys , Mr Narayan murthy. But , she is no longer called as Naranyan Murthy’s wife. She has an identity of her own. She is the chief founder of Infosys foundation which is a charitable organization and she has adopted villages together in the interiors of Karnataka and provided food for them. She manages more than 25 orphanages. She has written many books which convey her real life experiences and what she has learnt from them. Her book , Mahasweta which is originally written in kannada has brought a transition in the way of thinking of people. This book is about a wife and husband in which the wife is affected with a skin disease called luekoderma. At her time, she was the only lady engineer from her department and she is the first women employee to work on the shop floor of Telco. Her experiences with Mr JRD Tata are mind blowing and it was in Telco that she met a kannada guy(Narayan Murthy) and later married him.

She helped her husband with the first amount of capital for Infosys and took care of the family needs till Infosys took a shape. She loved programming and very much wanted to assist her husband in managing Infosys. But, Narayan murthy thought otherwise and told her that only one of them could take up the responsibility of Infosys. At first , she was devastated at her husband’s decision. But later on , she gave it a thought and realized that her husband was right. If both of them got involved with the company , then who will take care of the family. She opted to become a home-maker and she describes this as the most painful sacrifice which she had to give to fulfill her husband’s dream. But , she says that everyone should have their own individuality and thinking. Though she is a home-maker now , she did not stop thinking and I really wonder what was the inspiration for her to start Infosys foundation.
Just read some of her books or articles and you will know why I am so impressed by her. As a woman, I take a lot of inspiration from her!!

The Namesake!!

This novel has a concept which is closely related to situations and consequences which I have faced and keep facing sometimes even now. But the only difference is that, I love my name. Though it is different, though people make fun of it now and then, I just love my name. Unlike the character in the novel named Gogol who always makes a mistake of hating his name(and thus losing his identity and realizes it in the end),sometimes I am just proud of my name. Though it is a little frustrating when my teacher always stops at my name(while taking attendance) with a very helpless look on her face, it is a great feeling when I find that there is only one PURNA KOUMUDI in this world as of now…..

I have learnt to take pleasure in teaching people how to pronounce my name properly every time in a very patient manner and I take great pride in dictating the spelling of my name to all my teachers, especially English teacher…hahahaha….. all of them obediently writing it down as I dictate….

The novel has stirred up some of the memories of the incidents which even I have faced in my life. Definitely you are identified by your name, but your true identity lies in what kind of a person you are and not what kind of a name you have. Depending on your personality, your name which was ridiculed earlier may be loved and appreciated later. In the novel, Gogol never tries to find out why his father had named him so and changes his name to Nikhil. Finally he realizes that he could not do justice to either Gogol or Nikhil. He remains somewhere in the middle totally messing up with himself.

Finally, a great novel which has lots to learn about where your true identity lies.

An interesting Conversation!!

This is an interesting conversation which I had with Suhas. I had a certain opinion about God which I was never able to express properly. But, this conversation gave me an opportunity to redefine myself and my views on God.

Now, before showing you the conversation, I would like to introduce you to my Suhas who is my collegue in Wipro and a great techy. We usually call him Suhasipedia as he is that intelligent and with due respect, he has his opinions about the existence or the non-instence of god and we always used to have long discussions about it when we had free time during our training.

After we have reported at our respective posting locations, both of us were killing time chatting on the instant messenger. The conversation goes on like this…

(We have our salary credited to SBI and he was sharing some of the idiotic incidences which took place with some of our collegues..thanks to the great SBI…huhhh)

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:25 AM]:

SBI Case 1: One of my friends went to a retail store and swiped his SBI card. The transaction slip didnt come out. As a result the cashier swiped it twice and the money got deducted twice. The store has already writted to SBI, but SBI is not returning the money.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:26 AM]:

hahahaha.......

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:26 AM]:

oh god.....its unbelievable..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:26 AM]:

hey, wait a bit... the more unbelievable stuff abt SBI is coming up.

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:28 AM]:

SBI, Case 2: the same friend's classmate had the foll problem. She had not taken the SBI loan, so she should not have been having deduction of 750/- from her salary. She went once and saw it was deducted. So she spoke to Tedweb and they ensured she got the money back. She checked after a few days and again 750/- was cut by SBI. Again Tedweb told them to roll it back and they did it.

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:28 AM]:

Then what happened is great

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:28 AM]:

She checked it after a few days and she found that SBI was cutting 750/- EVERY DAY!!!

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:29 AM]:

oh god!!

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:29 AM]:

hopeless people...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:29 AM]:

Wait! She went to SBI branch and the manager gave him her number and ensured she got back her money. He also gave her his number and told her to call him up for any further problems

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:29 AM]:

And now comes the best part:

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:29 AM]:

hmm...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:30 AM]:

When she got back home, she found that the money was returned, but now SBI was cutting 750/- rupees EVERY HOUR!

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:30 AM]:

serious??

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:30 AM]:

And the manager didnt even pick up the phone when she called. Before they corrected the situation her account balance was negative some lakhs!

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:30 AM]:

oh god.......this is hopeless...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:30 AM]:

Dead serious. This is a true story, worthy of going into Ripley's Believe It Or Not!

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:31 AM]:

Wait, there's one more true story.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:31 AM]:

oh...disgusting,.,,

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:31 AM]:

SBI, Case 3: Another classmate of the same friend went to his ATM and checked his balance. It came out to -72000!

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:31 AM]:

SBI: Pure Idiocy, and Nothing Else!

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:32 AM]:

Enjoyed?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:32 AM]:

oh god....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:32 AM]:

yeah enjoyed...hehehhe

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:32 AM]:

Oh, and the girl in the second case, whose account was being cut every hour, had to shift to Hyd in a couple of days. Now imagine her situation

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

papam....seriously

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

hmm...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

papam.... means innocent, or bechari, right?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

Yeah..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

i still need to hunt for the internet pin numbers..envelopes..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

they have not yet come for me..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

enjoy the hunt!

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

hmm..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:33 AM]:

SBI will make you run like a horse for it

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:34 AM]:

shit yaar...i just hate it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

i think..i will keep withdrawing my whole salary and putting it in citibank..every month,..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

thats better

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

U know ,though my salary bank in tedweb is citi bank....i am still getting my salary in sbi

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

i dunnoo why

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

yeah, you'll keep getting it in SBI only

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:35 AM]:

for the first 15 months SBI is the bank you're supposed to use

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:36 AM]:

hmm....

There is another friend of ours ‘Ramgopal’. I call him Ramji and Suhas calls him RG. He is a great astrologer in our group and almost all of us showed our hands to him.I was just cribbing about my hardluck and how I don’t get anything without hardwork and stuff like that and with this started our debate on DESTINY and something called LUCK. Here goes another piece of conversation…

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:49 AM]:

even ramji told me after seeing my hand...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:49 AM]:

that...those who are not worthy than you also...pass off very easily....but u will have to take the path of hardwork...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:50 AM]:

you will get whatever u want in life..but for everything..u will have to work hard...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:50 AM]:

this is what he said..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:50 AM]:

and from the n number of experiences i had..i know that what ramji said is true..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:50 AM]:

the lines in your hand are less important than the curves (of the neurons) in your brain --- Suhas Karnik

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:50 AM]:

hahahah...good one..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:51 AM]:

i will remember this...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:51 AM]:

I honestly believe that, actually

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:51 AM]:

even i am not a very strong believer in all these astrologies and stuff...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:51 AM]:

but when ramji said that...i somehow could connect it to my real life experiences...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:51 AM]:

but i thought you believed in this

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:52 AM]:

hahahah...just to some extent

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:52 AM]:

i believe in destiny..and no HUMAN can decide your destiny….acc to me..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:52 AM]:

Or predict it

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:52 AM]:

ah well, that's natural. whenever someone tells us our "future", its human tendency to try and connect it to what we know is true

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:53 AM]:

may be u are right......but i felt it like that for only this thing which RG said…

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:54 AM]:

exactly... with all due respect, when someone tells you your future, the only thing that registers in your mind is the stuff which has come true... the part which hasn't come true, we ignore

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:54 AM]:

yeah..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:54 AM]:

As Richard Dawkins puts it, the hits are noticed, the misses are ignored.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:54 AM]:

yeah i know..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

and u know what i believe in...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

well, not exactly

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

you're a very interesting person in your beliefs

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

interesting = confusing (for others)

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

if u ever want something badly......just let it go...if it is destined to you...it will anyway come back....and if it is not for you....then..it is never yours anyway...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:55 AM]:

hahaha.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:56 AM]:

may be..u still need to know me more..thats it..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:56 AM]:

if that is so, then what is the purpose of trying for anything?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:56 AM]:

that is the human tendency involved....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:56 AM]:

when u know that u cant get something..and when u know that it is all u want.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:56 AM]:

u cant help but try for it....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:57 AM]:

but ultimately.....destiny wins

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:57 AM]:

what say?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:57 AM]:

what makes you so confident abt destiny?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:57 AM]:

hmm...a difficult one to answer....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:57 AM]:

because i have many experiences of my own...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:58 AM]:

my mom, actually was talking about destiny a week ago to me and I couldnt help smiling. when my mom asked my why, I told her it was almost exactly what you were saying in Grameen

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:58 AM]:

but the whole summary of it..is what i wrote above....no matter how hard you try for something..if .it is not yours ...u will never get it....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:58 AM]:

what did i say in grameen?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:59 AM]:

i dont rememeber..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:59 AM]:

that all of us meeting up here in blore is destiny, not coincidence

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:59 AM]:

oh ok ok..

Let me just brief it out to you people.Actually,I have recently joined Wipro and went to Bangalore for training. There I met Priya,Ramgopal and Suhas. And somehow we had similar mentalities(likemindedness) and had an opportunity of knowing each other very well during our bench service in between trainings and all.All the four of us are from completely different backgrounds, but that did not stop us from becoming friends(actual very good friends)And again as we were discussing something in Grameen(restaurant),as I am a believer of destiny,I told them that we(all the four of us) meeting here and becoming friends is not just a coincidence but destiny(it had to happen..so it happened).

Continuation of the conversation….

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [9:59 AM]:

my mom was talking about slightly different things, but the basic idea was the same

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [9:59 AM]:

ok..thats good....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:00 AM]:

somebody feels the same as i do...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:00 AM]:

well, but not me

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:00 AM]:

yeah yeah i know....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:01 AM]:

so what do you believe in?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:01 AM]:

the mind, the human spirit overcoming all odds. and above all, freedom

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:01 AM]:

ok...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:02 AM]:

you know Rabindranath Tagore's poem, "Where the Mind is without fear"?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:02 AM]:

no....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:02 AM]:

may be i read it...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:03 AM]:

its the perfect expression of what a country should be and should have

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:03 AM]:

hmm..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:03 AM]:

ok...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:03 AM]:

i'll send it to your mail in a while

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:03 AM]:

ok sure sure....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:09 AM]:

wait, i'll type it in outlook and send it

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:09 AM]:

okay...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:12 AM]:

check your mail

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:13 AM]:

okay..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:14 AM]:

yeah....it is also true.....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:14 AM]:

read it?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:14 AM]:

i mean..u should not leave trying for something saying...it is destiny....and if I am destined to get it..i will get it...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

i think u have a tagline ...karmanyee vaadhikarastee....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

maafaleshu kadaachana

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

when u want something...u should belive in your hardwork..and give it your best shot..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

maakarmafalaheturbhuhu matesvango akarmani?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

but then..after that..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

when the result time comes......

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

it is destiny which wins...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:15 AM]:

what say?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:16 AM]:

and who do you believe decides the destiny?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:16 AM]:

and on what basis?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:16 AM]:

i dunnoo that...but definitely...not us(who do the hardwork)

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:16 AM]:

we are just kartas....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:17 AM]:

fine, but if everything is pre-destined, there has to be someone doing the deciding, right?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:17 AM]:

yeah......

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:17 AM]:

and for that someone, you are like a puppet?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:17 AM]:

may be.....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:17 AM]:

or maybe, like a lab rat?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:18 AM]:

i am not very sure about this concept.....it will ultimately end up in believing in god or not...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:18 AM]:

no, lets forget god right now... just take this concept and see where it leads us

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:18 AM]:

i believe that there is some super natural power above us..and that guides us..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:18 AM]:

yeah..i know..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:18 AM]:

it leads to god...that god exists....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

ok, but on what basis does it guide us? why, for instance, do you like classical music and someone else hate it?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

hmmm.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

that is what we cant figure out...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

see...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

in vedas..it is sad it seems....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:19 AM]:

is it that we cant figure out or is it that we haven't tried enough to figure it out?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:20 AM]:

the science truths which were discovered.....are existing long before we are born...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:20 AM]:

and it will exist even after we die.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:21 AM]:

so..we are not the persons who can comment on..whether god is there or not...it is just a feeling which is kept alive in our hearts..we cannot prove god..because...it exists before we came onto this earth..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:21 AM]:

and will be there even after we die....so we are not at all nominated to question its existence...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:22 AM]:

but even gravity existed long before us, and will exist long after us... that didnt stop us from proving gravity, did it?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:22 AM]:

hmmmm...we just discovered it.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:22 AM]:

we did not prove it...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:22 AM]:

and I'm not questioning its existence, at least not at this moment. I'm merely analysing what the existence of this guiding force means, the consequences of its existence

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:23 AM]:

similarly.....many of us have a feeling that there is something above us..which rules us..but we dont have the strength to prove it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:23 AM]:

we cannot comment on its consequences and things like that..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:24 AM]:

we are just a passing by cloud.....who can just feel the existence of god in various ways..but can never actual know of its existence or consequences..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:24 AM]:

why not? even you are commenting on the consequences of the existence of the guiding power, aren't you? thats what you're doing when you say that the power guides you, after all

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:25 AM]:

it is just our perspective about what is happening with us in our lives...i actually dont know whether these things are happening to me because god is there..or because of some other thing....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:25 AM]:

it is just a mental belief which i have..thats it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

thats why i said..destiny....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

and i dunnoo who decides our destiny..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

if you believe in destiny, then you also obviously believe that everything in the universe is PRE-determined?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

we can have many answers for it..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

ok fine, forget who decides and who doesnt. do you believe everything is pre-determined?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:26 AM]:

hmmm.....not exactly predetermined...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:27 AM]:

it is just that the way things happen..happen according to a rule and rythmn which we cannot control..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:27 AM]:

kyaa khayaal hai?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:27 AM]:

fine, things can happen beyond our control, no problems

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:27 AM]:

hmm...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:28 AM]:

and I'm no even talking about any deciding force or god or anything.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:28 AM]:

hmmm...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:28 AM]:

but still, doesnt "destiny" mean that the course of the universe is already fixed? everything that is going to happen has already been fixed?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

okay..listen to me...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

see...u wanted to become a great singer...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

and u have put your heart and soul into it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

and you are really talented and worth it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

you go for a competition.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:29 AM]:

and you know that there is no other person who is better than you....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:30 AM]:

but still.....in some instances or cases..u might not get the first prize

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:30 AM]:

why do you think this happens??

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:30 AM]:

u know you are woth it...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:30 AM]:

but still you dont get it...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:30 AM]:

why?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:31 AM]:

your bad luck... but in this case, do you feel that it was already fixed that the person would not win the prize?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:31 AM]:

yes.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:31 AM]:

i mean to say....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:31 AM]:

things may not be fixed....but they happen in a way....which we cannot control...even by our hardwork or human effort...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:32 AM]:

or.....to put it this way..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:32 AM]:

what is luck??

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:32 AM]:

who decides it...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:32 AM]:

or how does it come to you?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:32 AM]:

when u know u are worht it...why didnt you get the prize??

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:33 AM]:

In any given situation, there is going to be some randomness. That is inherent. And so sometimes, results are not what you expect them to be. That's what we call luck. Luck, according to me, is a name we give to the randomizing tendency of events.

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:34 AM]:

Its like this. You know Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:34 AM]:

randomizing tendency of events..is the one which i call as destiny....which might be a physical force....or a mental....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:34 AM]:

i know that principle...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

there are things which you dont have control over...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

then who controls them??

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

thats is what i call the super natural power...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

it might be god and it might not be god...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

According to that, you can't predict the motion of an electron along with its position. Now assume the electron is in position X and you want it to go LEFT. When you observe, it goes right. Why does it go right? Randomness. No other answer for it

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:35 AM]:

but there is some physical power above us

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

i know that principle yaar and that randomness is what I call the extra natural power..which we don’t have..and that is god..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

science is very closely related to the power which i talk about...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

maybe, that is perfectly possible. but i feel its not necessary and is a very complex answer to a question when simpler answers are available

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

why does the electron go right.....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

because of something whcih controls its motion...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

right or wrong?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:36 AM]:

why should something control the motion?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:37 AM]:

something maaneee.....some force...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:37 AM]:

u know that we held by different kinds of forces right?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

some force whcich makes the atom take that behaviour...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

alternatively, why should only ONE thing control the motion? there is a school of thought that everything in the universe influences every other thing. So the fact that I was sneezing yesterday may be one of the many factors behind the movement of the electron to the right

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

Yeah,in a very scientific terminology..i call the physical forces which control us as god..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

yeah..exactly..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

now you're again reminding me of my mom

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

there might be a number of forces ruling us...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

now..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:38 AM]:

i call all those forces put together as god.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

thats it...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

there is no force "ruling" you as per science... because you ARE the force

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

i dont have any other explanation for god..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

no.....absolutely wrong...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

we are just matter

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

there are forces which rule us..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

that is why when we jump..we have to fall down..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:39 AM]:

Remember de-Broglie's equation, of particle and matter duality? Or Einstein's equation E=MC2, about mass-energy equivalence?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

forget about that...u agree with me??..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

we are just matter..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

sorry, particle and WAVE duality

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

and there are forces ruling us..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

no, i dont agree.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

why do we fall down when we jump..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

though we want to stay in air we cannot..why??

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:40 AM]:

due to gravitional force... but explain me what causes the gravitational force?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

exactly..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

the answer: the gravitational potential energy

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

that gravitational force is what i call god...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

u understand me??

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

the force is the god...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

we are not god...

And may be due to way we are brought up and as a result of our family backgrounds, we worship god as an idol, just giving it a shape. I worship god just to get a positive line of thought and to set right my psychology and assure myself that I can face all the difficulties that I encounter.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:41 AM]:

we behave acc to what it says...the force..and god in my sense

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

well then, if god is force, then far from us being dependent on god, god is dependent on us

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

yeah....why not..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

definitely...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

we are interdependent...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

i kinda like that idea

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

yeah...it is true also....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:42 AM]:

so..now do you get my whole idea of god..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:43 AM]:

or the supernatural force which i talk about..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:43 AM]:

well, but seriously, if you call god as a force, i can ask the same question that i asked in my blog

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:44 AM]:

there already exists a scientific term called "force". why redefine god to fit it to this existng word? No offence, but in the same manner, I can redefine god as my shoe, and show that since the shoe exists, so does god

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:44 AM]:

yeah....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:44 AM]:

everybody have their own perspective of god....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:44 AM]:

u can define it in your own way...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

but u know something....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

many people......wantedly..define god as somebody superior....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

just to get relief from their troubles....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

likewise, I can define it as a ten-legged tiger, which we know doesn't exist, and therefore god doesnt exist

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

Yeah I know….i mean...when you are in pain...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

u need someone to comfort you..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:45 AM]:

so people take the name of god..that is he is very great..just to pacify themselves,,,

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:46 AM]:

its true that a lot of people want a superior god, but aren't they actually creating a being or a concept of a being that is actually, not much better than themselves?

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:46 AM]:

it all depends on how people look at it....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:46 AM]:

and their mentalitly..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:47 AM]:

yeah...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:47 AM]:

ur point is true....i liked it..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:47 AM]:

but the answer is the same...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [10:47 AM]:

people do it..just to pacify themselves...when they are in pain..that everything is gonna be alright..as someone is there to take care of it..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [10:48 AM]:

yes, and there is a good biological reason for it oo

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:01 AM]:

and as far as i have figured out..

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:01 AM]:

may be we have almost the same kind of opinions about of god....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:02 AM]:

dont we....ofcourse..with a little diff....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:02 AM]:

or you agreed just like that??..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:02 AM]:

perfectly

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:02 AM]:

if I had to define you in the category of atheist, agnostic or theist, I'd put you in agnostic, actually

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:03 AM]:

hmmm...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:03 AM]:

its like this: think of it as a spectrum, with atheism and theism at the extremes and agnosticism is the entire area between them

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:03 AM]:

yeah...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:04 AM]:

i'm at one point very close to atheism, but still an agnostic. you're at one point very close to theism, but also an agnostic.

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:04 AM]:

yeah yeah...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:04 AM]:

perfect..

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:04 AM]:

in fact, most educated hindus I've met are actually agnostics

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:04 AM]:

hmm..they have to be....otherwise..there is no meaning of we being educated...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:05 AM]:

your kind of god, ie force, is something that isnt going to punish me for not worshipping it, is not going to tell someone to "purify"a Dalit child by pouring cow urine on his head, and is not going to say that a rape victim who kills someone while defending herself, is a murderer

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:05 AM]:

yeah exactly...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:06 AM]:

u neednot justify god...yaar

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:06 AM]:

And I fully agree till this point.... but then I feel that it hardly matters whether such a god exists or not

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:07 AM]:

anyone agrees or disagrees......this is the only form of god that exists....and i already told you..that god fullfilling wishes and granting wishes is all the human psychology.....just to pacify themselves....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:07 AM]:

This god you're talking about comes very close to the god described in this book. And I feel the same way about it. What difference does the existence of such a god make? If I imagine a universe which did NOT have such a god, I dont see how it would be different from a universe that DID have such a god

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:07 AM]:

see...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:08 AM]:

the point is....

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:08 AM]:

in the form of god which i believe in.....there is no question of he NOT existing..because..nothing can exist without the gravitational force or the physical forces that make up the universe...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

so no point saying...god may not exist...

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

he exists..definitely.....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

gravitational force, actually does not exist

This is the speciality of Suhas.Only he can take the credit of changing the topic in a way like this when I am saying something so seriously….

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

hahahaha...ok baba.,,,

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

you win....

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:09 AM]:

seriously, gravity is not a force at all

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:10 AM]:

i know it man......

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:10 AM]:

you know it?

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:10 AM]:

not many people know that gravitaion is not a force

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:10 AM]:

i dont know it to the fullest....i mean..i cant explain ...but i know gravitation is not a force...

Suhas Karnik (WT01 - EAS) [11:10 AM]:

there exist only three fundamental forces in the universe actually : electromagnetic, strong nuclear and weak nuclear

Purna Koumudi Vogeti (WT01 - EAS) [11:11 AM]:

even i studied science yaar..come on..

And,in this way….we go on with another round of what I generally call..”pulling of legs”…hahaha

Hope I did not bore you with this blog of mine..but just wanted to share this with all of you who would find it interesting..
